Police Charge Man After Replica Firearm Seized At Dubbo

A man will face court today after an alleged replica firearm was seized in the state's Central West.

About 7.30am yesterday (Monday 2 September 2024), officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were called to MacDonald Street, Dubbo, following reports of a man walking around with a firearm.

A short time later, police attended and allegedly sighted a man drop an item into a utility. The man was arrested, and police located and seized a replica firearm from the utility.

The 30-year-old man was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with possess unauthorised pistol, and acquire pistol-subject to firearms prohibition order.

The man was refused bail and appeared at Dubbo Local Court yesterday (Monday 2 September 2024), where he was formally refused bail to appear at the same court today (Tuesday 3 September 2024).
