Police Charge Man After Road Rage Incident At Blacktown

A man has been charged following an investigation into a road rage incident in Sydney's west last week.

About 11am on Friday 6 September 2024 officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command were called to Blacktown Road, Blacktown, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, police were told a small truck allegedly struck a male pedestrian near the Prospect Highway and left the scene.

A 40-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for leg injuries before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established as police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

About 2.30pm on Saturday 7 September 2024, a 27-year-old man was arrested at Blacktown Police Station.

He was charged with drive furiously in motor vehicle do/cause bodily harm, cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle, negligent driving, and fail to stop and assist after impact cause injury.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Sunday 8 September 2024 where he was given conditional bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court on Thursday 12 September 2024.
