Police Charge Man After Road Rage Incident In Watsonia

Police have charged a man following an alleged road rage incident in Watsonia last month.

It is believed a male driver in a grey Holden 4WD was travelling along Grimshaw Street when he collided with a Holden hatchback on Friday, 14 February about 3.20pm.

The driver of the hatchback then got out of his car and allegedly assaulted the male victim, before smashing the victim's car window with an axe.

The 32-year-old Narre Warren victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The offender fled the area, heading in an unknown direction of travel.

Police have since arrested the 41-year-old Wattle Glen man, and he was charged with:

• Drive whilst suspended

• Careless driving

• Interfere with motor vehicle

• Recklessly cause injury

• Reckless conduct endanger serious injury

• Assault with weapon

• Criminal damage

• Use controlled weapon without excuse

• Possess drug of dependence (x 9)

He was remanded to appear at the Heidelberg Magistrates' Court on 5 March.
