Police Charge Man After Seaford Hit And Run

Chelsea police have charged a man following an alleged hit and run collision in Seaford on Saturday.

Officers have been told a cyclist was travelling at the rear of a group of cyclists along Nepean Highway when he was allegedly struck by a blue VW Golf about 7.55am.

The 53-year-old cyclist came off his bike and was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police will allege the driver of the VW Golf fled the scene after the collision occurred.

A 20-year-old Cranbourne North man has since been charged with reckless conduct endangering life, dangerous driving, careless driving, fail to render assistance and fail to exchange details.

He was bailed to appear before Moorabbin Magistrates' Court on 3 April.
