A man has been charged following an alleged stabbing at Guildford yesterday (Sunday 10 March 2024).
About 1.10pm yesterday, emergency services were called to a home at Rawson Road, Guildford, following reports of a stabbing.
A 46-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a wound to his neck, and taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
A 47-year-old man was arrested and taken to Westmead Hospital for assessment.
The men are known to each other.
Police attached to Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following his release from hospital, the 47-year-old was taken to Granville Police Station, and charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder, contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic), and use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order.
The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Monday 11 March 2024).
