Police Charge Man After Stabbing At Queanbeyan 4 September

A man will face court today over an alleged stabbing in the state's south over the weekend.

About 4.40pm Sunday (1 September 2024) emergency services were called to a home on Donald Road, Queanbeyan, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended and were told a 38-year-old man was allegedly stabbed by another man, before the second man fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The 38-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Canberra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police established a crime scene and an investigation into the incident commenced.

Following inquiries, about 8pm yesterday (Tuesday 3 September 2024) a 42-year-old man was arrested at Queanbeyan Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent to inflict actual bodily harm and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The 42-year-old man was refused bail to appear before Cooma Local Court today (Wednesday 4 September 2024).
