Police Charge Man After Stabbing - Rydalmere

A man has been charged after an alleged stabbing in Rydalmere on Tuesday.

About 3.40pm Tuesday 21 May 2024, emergency services were called to a unit on Stanley Street, Rydalmere, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command arrived to find a 29-year-old man had been stabbed several times in the neck and body.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced inquiries into the incident.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 37-year-old man outside Blacktown Hospital about 3.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 22 May 2024).

He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was changed with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and two counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception.

He was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court today (Thursday 23 May 2024).
