Police charge man after Wangaratta shooting

Armed Crime Squad investigators have arrested a Myrtleford man in relation to an alleged shooting that occurred in Wangaratta on Friday 22 October.

A 40-year-old attended a hospital in Wangaratta around 3.30pm with a suspected gunshot wound to his upper body.

The 26-year-old has been charged with armed robbery, intentionally cause serious injury, reckless conduct endangering life, theft of motor vehicle, prohibited person possess firearm, possess drug of dependence and traffick drug of dependence.

A search warrant was executed at a Myrtleford property where a firearm, ammunition and a quantity of drugs was seized.

He has been remanded to appear at the Shepparton Magistrates' Court on 29 October.
