Police charge man after Winchelsea fire

Torquay Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a house fire in Winchelsea on 7 March.

Emergency services were called to a fire at an address on McDonald Drive just after midnight.

The fire spread to a neighbouring property causing significant damage to both homes.

A 25-year-old Winchelsea man has been charged with:

• 2 x Criminal damage by fire (arson)

• 4 x Reckless conduct endangering life.

The man will appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court on 16 March.
