Police Charge Man After Woman Stabbed - South Coast

A man will face court today after a woman was allegedly stabbed overnight.

About 7.55pm Tuesday (26 November 2024) emergency services were called to a house on Park Drive, Sanctuary Point, following reports of a domestic incident.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District attended and found a 25-year-old woman with stab wounds.

Police were told the woman was injured while attempting to separate two men who were involved in a scuffle at the house.

The woman was treated at the scene before being taken to Shoalhaven Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and police commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A 31-year-old man, who left the scene prior to the arrival of police, was arrested a short time later on Allison Parade, Nowra, following a pursuit.

He was taken to Nowra Police Station, where he was charged with contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic), aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offences – armed, police pursuit – not stop – drive at speed and breach bail.

He was refused bail to appear before Nowra Local Court today (Wednesday 27 November 2024).
