Police Charge Man After Wounding North Of Wollongong

A man has been charged following an alleged break and enter in the Illawarra.

About 8pm on Monday 10 March 2025, police responded to a unit in Meadow Street, Fairy Meadow, following reports of an alleged break and enter.

NSW Ambulance responded and treated a 25-year-old man for a stab wound to the arm.

He was taken to Wollongong Hospital for treatment - the injury is not considered life threatening.

The offender allegedly fled the scene.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District responded and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, about 9.55pm yesterday (Tuesday 11 March 2025), police attended a home in Rothery Street, Bellambi.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station.

He was charged with specially aggravated enter dwelling with intent to wound.

He was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court today (Wednesday 12 March 2025).
