A man and woman have been charged with fraud offences following an investigation into a camper van fire near Tamworth.
On Friday 18 January 2019, emergency services attended an address at Bendemeer after a camper van was destroyed by fire.
Officers from Oxley Police District commenced an investigation, which revealed an alleged fraudulent insurance claim had been submitted in relation to a prior incident.
Following extensive inquiries, a 50-year-old woman was arrested by investigators at Kempsey Police Station about 1pm yesterday (Tuesday 13 August 2019).
A short time later, a 52-year-old man was arrested and taken to Kempsey Police Station.
They were each charged with two counts of obtain financial advantage by deception.
They were granted conditional bail and will appear before Tamworth Local Court Monday 26 August 2019.
