Police charge man over aggravated break-in at Narrabri

A man will appear in court today charged over an alleged aggravated break-in at Narrabri yesterday.

About 6.10am (Monday 20 December 2021), a man allegedly forced entry to the home on Hinds Street, and assaulted the occupant, a 31-year-old man, threatening him with a hammer before fleeing.

Officers from Oxley Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which has been forensically examined.

Detectives commenced an investigation and following inquiries attended a home on Baranbar Street, about 10.30am, where a 52-year-old man was arrested

He was taken to Narrabri Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – armed.

The man was refused bail to appear at Moree Local Court today (Tuesday 21 December 2021).

The men are known to each other.
