Police have charged a man following an armed robbery in Sydney south west on the weekend.
About 12.50pm on Saturday (24 February 2024), police were called to a pharmacy in Thirlmere following reports of an armed robbery.
Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command arrived and were told a man had threatened staff members with a knife before taking items from the store and fleeing the scene in a sedan.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries police located a sedan matching the description of the vehicle used in the alleged robbery at Onslow Oval, Camden, the following day (Sunday 25 February 2024).
The vehicle was searched and seized for forensic examination.
A short time later police received a report from the 29-year-old owner of the vehicle that it had been stolen.
Police arrived and arrested the 29-year-old before taking him to Narellan Police Station.
He was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.
The man was refused bail to appear before Picton Local Court on Sunday 25 February 2024 where he was further refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday 24 April 2024.
