Police Charge Man Over Break-ins At Toongabbie

A man has been charged following an investigation into several break and enters in the Toongabbie area earlier this year.

On Friday 19 July 2024, police were called to a home on Wentworth Avenue, Toongabbie, following reports a man had broken into the home and was threatening residents.

Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command arrived and the unknown man fled from the area.

Following inquiries by officers attached to the Police Transport Command North West Sector, a search warrant was executed at a premises on Dilga Crescent, Erskine Park, yesterday (Thursday 15 August 2024).

A short time later, a 28-year-old man was arrested at Mount Druitt Police Station.

He was charged with 19 offences, including:

  • Ten counts of shoplifting
  • Two counts of enter dwelling with intent to steal
  • Two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm
  • One count of break and enter house steal value less than $60,000
  • One count of break and enter dwelling – house with intent (steal)
  • One count of steal property in dwelling – house less than $2000
  • One count of larceny
  • One count of breach bail

The man was refused bail to appear before Mount Druitt Local Court today (Friday 16 August 2024).

Police will allege in court the man attended the Toongabbie home on multiple occasions between May and July 2024 and stole items of clothing.
