A man has been charged after an alleged carjacking on the state's Central Coast.
About 4:30pm yesterday, (Saturday 28 December 2024) a 27-year-old man was driving a white Mazda BT50 on Budgewoi Road, Budgewoi when he noticed a blue Toyota Corolla allegedly following him.
The man pulled over and the Corolla stopped in front of him. Two men exited the Corolla with one allegedly carrying a large knife.
The 27-year-old man was threatened with the knife before one of the men allegedly drove from the scene in the man's car.
Police patrolling the vicinity found the stolen vehicle abandoned on Elizabeth Drive, Noraville and shortly after found a 21-year-old man on Gomul Street, Noraville.
A search of the man found a large Bowie style knife in the front of his pants along with the wallet and personal cards belonging to the victim.
A 21-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with:
- Robbery armed with offensive weapon
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period (second offence)
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today, Sunday 29 December 2024.
