Police Charge Man Over Devonport Assault

A 19-year-old Devonport man has been charged with aggravated assault following an incident in Morris Avenue, Devonport last night.

Police were called about 5pm to a report of a disturbance involving several people fighting and a person allegedly being struck by a car.

Police closed Morris Avenue to traffic for a short time while the incident was investigated.

It was confirmed that one person had been struck by a car and received minor injuries.

The people involved were known to each other.

The Devonport man was bailed to appear in the Devonport Magistrates Court at a later time.
