Police Charge Man Over Drug Offence - Adamstown

A man will face court over an alleged drug offence in the state's north.

In December 2024, officers from Proactive Crime Team at Newcastle City Police District commenced an investigation into an alleged drug supply in the Newcastle area.

About 6pm on Saturday (14 December 2024), police were patrolling Bunker Road, Adamstown, when they stopped a grey Nissan Ute, believed to be being driven by a disqualified driver.

Following inquiries, police arrested the driver – a 27-year-old man – at the scene.

Police also seized unknown substance – believed to be prohibited drug –, an amount of cash and electric devices.

He was taken to Newcastle Police Station where he was charged with following offences:

  • Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period
  • Three counts of possess prohibited drug
  • Three counts of supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity
  • Possess explosive in public place
  • Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 15 December 2024).
