A man has been charged after a woman was stabbed multiple times at Villawood last week.
Emergency services were called to Alcoomie Street, Villawood, about 3pm Sunday (23 June 2024), following reports of a stabbing.
Officers attached to the Bankstown Police Area Command attended and found a 55-year-old woman with stab wounds to her head, back and chest.
She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and was taken to Liverpool Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
A 61-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Westmead Hospital where he remained under police guard until he was charged yesterday (Monday 24 June 2024), with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm with intent to murder, and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic).
He has been bail refused bail to appear via AVL in Parramatta Local Court today (Tuesday 25 June 2024).
Police will allege in court the stabbing was domestic violence related.
