Police Charge Man Over Myaree Crime Series

Palmyra Police have arrested and charged a man following a series of incidents in Myaree and Booragoon on Thursday, 27 February 2025.

About 5.00pm, it will be alleged; the man entered a supermarket in Myaree and assaulted a customer in an unprovoked attack. The 35-year-old male customer, who was present with his wife and baby at the time, received minor injuries not requiring hospital treatment.

It will be further alleged; the man attended a number of retailers in the same area where he stole items and damaged property before assaulting a second person, a 55-year-old man, in another unprovoked attack in a carpark on Leach Highway. The male fled on foot leaving the victim with minor injuries not requiring hospital treatment.

Police located and arrested the man a short time later at a Shopping Centre in Booragoon.

A 43-year-old man from Como was charged with one count of 'Providing a False Name to Police', one count of 'Breach of Bail', one count of 'Possess a Prohibited Drug', one count of 'Stealing', one count of 'Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property' and two counts of 'Common Assault'.

The man was further charged with one count of 'Common Assault' in relation to an incident that occurred on 14 February 2025 at a service station in Applecross.

The man appeared before Fremantle Magistrates Court on 28 February 2025 and has been remanded in custody, next appearing on 28 March 2025.
