Police Charge Man Over Ram Raid At Glen Innes

A man is due to appear in court today charged over an alleged ram raid targeting a business in Glen Innes.

About 11:30pm last Tuesday, (December 17 2024), police were called to a petrol station on Ferguson Street, Glen Innes, and found a vehicle had reversed into the front doors.

Officers attached to New England Police District found extensive damage to the front of the business.

Police obtained CCTV and identified a station wagon – which had been reported stolen from Glen Innes the day before – as being involved in the ram raid.

Following inquiries, police yesterday (Saturday 21 December 2024), arrested an 18-year-old man.

He was taken to Glen Innes Police Station where he was charged with four offences,

  • Steal motor vehicle (two counts),
  • Aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence - armed, and
  • Destroy or damage property.

He was refused bail to appear via AVL at Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 22 December 2024).
