Police Charge Man Over Sexual Touching At Wollongong

A man has been charged with alleged sexual touching offences in the Illawarra.

About 8.45am on Tuesday (24 September 2024), police were called to the bus stop at Keira Street, Wollongong, near Crown Street, following reports a man had allegedly inappropriately touched a 54-year-old woman.

A short time later, the same man allegedly exposed himself to a 30-year-old woman before he left the scene.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District attended the scene and commenced an investigation into the two incidents.

Following inquiries, about 11.30am on Tuesday (24 September 2024), officers arrested a 29-year-old man outside the shopping complex, in Crown Street, Wollongong.

He was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charged with sexually touch another person without consent, carry out sexual act with another without consent, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal) and common assault.

He appeared at Wollongong Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 25 September 2024) and was refused bail to reappear at the same court on (Tuesday 15 October 2024).
