Police charge man over sexual touching of young girl - Central Coast

Detectives have charged a man following an investigation into the alleged sexual touching of a young girl on the state's Central Coast.

On Sunday (27 December 2020), detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports a seven-year-old girl had been sexually touched by a man known to her.

Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested a 42-year-old man at a home near Ourimbah about 2.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 29 December 2020).

He was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with two counts of intentionally sexually touch child under 10 years.

The man was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today (Wednesday 30 December 2020).

The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
