A man will face court today charged over an alleged stabbing on the Central Coast last night.
About 6.30pm yesterday (Thursday 20 March 2025), emergency services were called to Danbury Avenue, Gorokan, following reports of a stabbing.
At the scene, police were told a man and woman allegedly entered the unit of a man known to them, before the occupant – a 53-year-old man – was stabbed several times.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene was established, and officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District – assisted by PolAir – commenced a search of the area.
Following inquiries, police attended a unit on Gorokan Drive, Lake Haven, a short time later.
A 33-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested at the unit and taken to Wyong Police Station.
The man was charged with special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offences – inflict grievous bodily harm, and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear before Wyong Local Court today (Friday 21 March 2025).
The woman was released pending further inquiries.
