Police Charge Man Over Stabbing - Cumberland PAC

A man has been charged over a stabbing in Sydney's south west.

About 11.25pm yesterday (Friday 8 February 2025), emergency services attended Joyner Street, Mays Hill, following reports a 30-year-old man had sustained several stab wounds.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were informed that the man and two friends were walking through the grounds of a cemetery on Steele Street when they became involved in a confrontation with a man who was allegedly camping at the location.

A short time later a 29-year-old man was arrested by police outside of the cemetery.

Paramedics treated the man for minor injuries at the scene.

He was taken to Granville Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding and refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 8 February 2025).
