Police charge man over stalk, intimidation at Bankstown

Police have charged a man with domestic violence offences following the alleged protracted intimidation of a woman in Sydney's south-west.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command received a report yesterday (Thursday 5 October 2023), of alleged domestic violence intimidation of a woman aged in her teens.

Following an investigation, officers – assisted by South West Metropolitan Region Domestic Violence High Risk Offender team – arrested a 24-year-old man at a home in Potts Hill today (Friday 6 October 2023).

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he has been charged with stalk intimidate intend fear physical harm (DV).

Police will allege in court the man coerced and emotionally abused the woman for eight months.

He was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Friday 6 October 2023).
