Police have charged a man after an allegedly stolen $250,000 car was tracked on GPS through the Nillumbik area yesterday afternoon.
The owner was monitoring his Nissan GT-R, which had recently been delivered from overseas, via GPS when he noticed suspicious movement yesterday in Nutfield and notified police.
Police first sighted the stolen Nissan on a trailer being towed by a Ford Territory in Nutfield.
The offending driver took off and was tracked via GPS through Hurstbridge.
Officers attempted to intercept the Ford Territory which collided with a police vehicle on Reynolds Road, Wattle Glen, causing moderate damage but fortunately no one was injured.
The Air Wing followed the car before it crossed Main Hurstbridge Road, narrowly missing several vehicles and crashed into a property.
The male driver got out of the vehicle and allegedly fled the scene on foot, before being arrested nearby.
The 20-year-old Bundoora man has been charged with various offences including theft of motor vehicle, reckless damage to emergency services vehicle, reckless conduct endangering life, unlicensed driving and dangerous driving.
He was remanded to appear before Heidelberg Magistrates' Court today.
