Police Charge Man With Animal Cruelty Offences At Moree

A man has been charged with animal cruelty offences in the state's northwest.

Police will allege in court a 32-year-old man struck a female border collie with a steal pole around 10pm on Friday 16 August 2024 at Garah, resulting in the dog's death.

On Monday 19 August 2024, the man attended Mungindi Police Station and admitted to killing the dog.

The man was served a field court attendance notice today (Thursday 22 August 2024), for the offences of recklessly beat and kill animal and commit an act of aggravated cruelty upon an animal.

He will appear in Moree Local Court on Monday 14 October 2024.
