Police Charge Man With Assault At Camperdown

A man will face court today charged with assaulting another man in Newtown.

About 9.30am (Saturday 2 November 2024), emergency services were called to Camperdown Memorial Rest Park, Newtown, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command arrived and were told a 24-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face by another man.

The 24-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for facial injuries before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

About 3pm (Saturday 2 November 2024), a 23-year-old man was arrested at Trade Street, Newtown and taken to Newtown Police Station.

He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 3 November 2024)
