Police Charge Man With Assaulting Four People - Rozelle

A man has been charged with multiple offences after he allegedly assaulted four people in Sydney's inner west on the weekend.

Officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command began an investigation following reports of an assault in a store car park on Parsons Street, Rozelle, about 10.20pm on Sunday 9 February 2025.

Police will allege a man approached a 49-year-old woman and demanded her car keys before he assaulted her.

A member of the public – a 55-year-old man – rendered assistance to the woman before he followed the man along Parsons Street, and was allegedly assaulted by him.

About 10.40pm, emergency services were called to a unit complex on Burt Street, Rozelle, following reports of an assault.

Police will allege the man assaulted a 40-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man, both known to him, inside a home.

The man allegedly assaulted the woman again on the street after she fled the unit.

The 39-year-old man also left the unit and collapsed unconscious outside.

The man and woman were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance.

The 48-year-old man was arrested after police negotiated his exit from the unit.

He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital under police guard for treatment.

The man has been charged with

  • Assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle
  • Assault occasioning actual bodily harm
  • Common assault (four counts)
  • Affray (two counts)
  • Enter prescribed premises of any person without lawful excuse
  • Aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – inflict actual bodily harm
  • Intentionally choke etc person without consent
  • Assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV)
  • Supply prohibited drug more than small quantity and less than indictable quantity, and
  • Possess prohibited drug

The man was refused bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court today (Tuesday 11 February 2025).
