Police charge man with attempted murder after Zeehan incident

Burnie detectives have overnight charged an 82-year-old man, after investigations have been continuing into an incident at Counsel Street in Zeehan on Saturday morning.

Two females aged 80 and 64 years suffered wounds to their head, face and arms during the incident.

The male offender, who also suffered self-inflicted injuries, has now been charged with 1x Attempted Murder and 1x Wounding. He has been detained in custody to appear in court on Tuesday 22nd June 2021 at Launceston.
