A man was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after being stabbed at Blanchetown overnight. Another man has been arrested.
Police and paramedics were called to a Blanchetown address just after 12.30am on Sunday 29 May by reports of a serious assault.
A 47-year-old man had sustained a stab wound to the abdomen. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he will undergo surgery. His is in a serious but stable condition.
Berri CIB detectives and crime scene investigators attended the scene overnight.
A 36-year-old Blanchetown man was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted murder. He has been refused police bail and will appear in the Berri Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police wish to reassure the local community that this was not a random incident and the two men involved are known to each other.
