Police Charge Man With Break-ins - New England

A man will face court over a number of break and enter offences in the state's north-west.

In November 2024, officers attached to New England Police District commenced an investigation following reports of multiple break and enter offences in Bingara, Warialda and Glen Innes areas.

Initial inquiries established a number of solar panels, motor controllers and metal products were stolen from several locations since Tuesday 19 November 2024.

Following extensive inquiries, about 8.45am yesterday (Wednesday 4 December 2024), police executed a search warrant at an address on Reedy Street, Delungra, where they arrested a 60-year-old man.

During the search, police seized a number of items including a water tank, water pump, solar panels, mirror, street signs and electric tools.

The man was taken to Inverell Police Station where he was charged with:

  • Two counts of enter dwelling with intent
  • Two counts of break and enter house steal value less than or equal to $60,000
  • Three counts of goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle)
  • Destroy or damage property

He was refused bail to appear at Inverell Local Court today (Thursday 5 December 2024).
