Police Charge Man With Drug Offences - Western Sydney

A man has been charged with drug possession by police following a vehicle stop in Sydney's west last Friday.

About 9.50pm on Friday 26 July 2024, officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command were stopped at traffic lights at the intersection of Power Street and Knox Road at Doonside, when they saw the driver of a black Toyota sedan allegedly inhale a substance, which police believed to be an illegal drug.

Police then stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 46-year-old man.

During a search of the man and his vehicle, police allegedly located a small resealable clear bag containing a white powered substance, which police will allege in Court to be cocaine.

The man was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and is expected to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Thursday 19 September 2024.
