It will be alleged between 03:45am and 04:20am the man set fire in two areas, bushland in the vicinity of Toodyay and Aspen Roads, Gidgegannup.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel attended and extinguished the fire before it impacted on the lives, homes and businesses of people in the community. The fire burnt over two hectares of bushland.
The 38-year-old man from High Wycombe has been charged with:
• Two counts of Wilfully Light or Cause to be Lit a Fire Likely to Injure or Damage.
He is due to appear before the Midland Magistrates Court today, Friday 17 January 2025. This offence carries a maximum penalty of 20 years' imprisonment.
