Police charge man with Historical Sexual Offences Against Children

On Wednesday 25 November 2020, Child Abuse Squad detectives charged a 71-year-old man as a result of their investigation into historical child sexual abuse allegations.
It is alleged between 1988 and 1998, the man sexually assaulted two girls who were aged between 5 and 10 years at the time of the first offence.
The man is a former Police Officer who retired from the WA Police Force in September 1996.
The 71-year-old man from Greenmount has been charged with:-
• Two counts of Indecent Dealing with a Girl under 13 years;
• Two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault;
• One count of Sexual Penetration of a Child under 13 years;
• One count of Indecent Dealing of a Child under 13 years; and
• One count of Sexual Relationship with a Child under the age of 16.
The man is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 9 December 2020.
