Police Charge Man With Murder At Gunnedah

A man has been charged with murder after a woman's body was located in north-west NSW.

About 8.20am today (Friday 25 October 2024), officers attached to Oxley Police District were called to a property on Henry Street, Gunnedah, following reports of a concern for welfare.

On arrival, police located the body of a woman. She is yet to be formally identified, however, is believed to be aged in her 50s.

A crime scene has been established which will be forensically examined by specialist police.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Gunnedah Police Station.

He has been charged with murder (DV) and refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 26 October 2024).

Initial inquiries have led police to believe the man and woman are known to each other.
