A man will face court today charged with domestic violence offences near Wollongong.
About 9pm Saturday (9 November 2019) a 19-year-old woman attended the home of a man on Lakeside Drive, Kanahooka.
About 6.30am yesterday (Sunday 10 November 2019) the woman made attempts to leave the property. The man allegedly produced a knife and threatened the woman.
After several hours of alleged threats, the woman left the property and later reported the incident to Wollongong police.
About 2.45am today (Monday 11 November 2019) officers from Lake Illawarra Police District attended the home and placed a 22-year-old man under arrest.
He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with take etc person intend to commit serious indictable offence and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO.
The man was refused bail and is due to face Wollongong Local Court today (Monday 11 November 2019).
