Police Charge Man With Upskirting Offences

Ballarat Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) have charged a man following a series of upskirting incidents in Ballarat and Melbourne.

Police will allege the man filmed a number of victims at various recreational facilities and retail businesses between 1 January and 7 February.

Investigators will also allege the material was captured without the victim's knowledge or consent.

On Friday 7 February, detectives executed search warrants at several addresses in the Ballarat area, and located and seized a number of electronic devices.

A 39-year-old Redan man has been charged with:

• 2 counts of produce intimate image

• 2 counts of possess child abuse material

• stalking

He was remanded to appear before Ballarat Magistrates Court today.
