Three men have been charged after allegedly assaulting and robbing a 75-year-old man at Pittsworth on Saturday.
Around 1.30pm, the three men attended the 75-year-old's Taylor Street property to negotiate the sale of a vehicle.
Negotiations broke down and the group allegedly began to assault the man by punching and kicking him. During the alleged assault, one of the men allegedly struck the 75-year-old over the head with a rock.
Bystanders intervened, causing the group to run off, not before allegedly stealing the man's mobile phone.
Toowoomba detectives today travelled to Tiaro and arrested three men aged 26, 31 and 51.
All three have been charged with robbery whilst armed in company. They have been refused police bail and will appear in Maryborough Magistrates Court tomorrow.
The trio are known to each other.
