Police Charge Over Illegal Alcohol Sale in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 38-year-old female in relation to the unlawful sale of alcohol last week.

Around 3.45pm on Wednesday 7 August, the Southern Alcohol Policing Unit observed the alleged sale of alcohol at a residence on Ellery Drive. The sale was followed and intercepted by police, and a 3L cask of wine was seized. A short time later, a second alleged sale was observed at the residence and once again intercepted by police, who seized another 3L cask of wine.

Police located two more 3L casks of wine inside the Ellery Drive residence, along with money matching the alleged sale amount in the possession of the female offender.

Police arrested the 38-year-old female without incident, and she was charged with two counts of Unauthorised Sale of Liquor.

She is set to appear in court on 4 September 2024.
