Police Charge Pair After Long Gully Assault

Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged two men today following an alleged serious assault in Long Gully last week.

It is alleged a man confronted the driver of a vehicle driving erratically on Sparrowhawk Road when he was seriously assaulted and then struck by a vehicle about 10pm on 9 January.

A 67-year-old Long Gully man was taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries.

An 18-year-old Long Gully man was arrested yesterday and charged with dangerous driving cause serious injury and other assault and traffic offences.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Bendigo Magistrates' Court today.

A 19-year-old Kangaroo Flat man was charged with assault-related offences and bailed to appear at Bendigo Magistrates' Court on 17 March.
