A man and a woman have been charged following an alleged brawl at Dundas Valley overnight.
Just before 11.00pm yesterday (Wednesday 14 August 2024) emergency services were called to a home on Friendship Street, Dundas Valley, following reports of an assault.
Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command attended the scene and found two female victims – aged 21 and 44 – the older woman had lacerations to her head.
Police were told a group of people allegedly assaulted the women in the front yard of the home, before they left the scene prior to police arrival.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated both women at the scene before the older woman was taken to Westmead Hospital for further treatment.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, two people – a 44-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman – were arrested nearby and taken to Gladesville Police Station.
The man was charged with reckless wounding in company. He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local court later today (Thursday 15 August 2024).
The woman was charged with reckless wounding in company and assault. She was also refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court later today.
