Seven people have been charged following a brawl in Wagga Wagga at the weekend.
Officers from Riverina Police District were called to Raye Street, Tolland, about 2.20am on Saturday 9 January 2021, responding to multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a large brawl.
Police arrived and found up to 50 people allegedly fighting, with one man unconscious in the street.
Additional resources were called to the scene and seven people – five men and two women – were arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station. They have since been charged.
The remainder of the crowd was dispersed a short time later. Three people were treated at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, two for head injuries and one for the effects of OC spray.
A 23-year-old man has been charged with behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school, and resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty.
A 29-year-old man has been charged with affray, and behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school.
A 20-year-old woman has been charged with refuse/fail to comply with direction.
A 29-year-old man has been charged with behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school.
A 27-year-old man has been charged with resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty, and behave in offensive manner in/near public place.
A 31-year-old man has been charged with affray, and behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school.
A 38-year-old woman has been charged with resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty, behave in offensive manner in/near public place, refuse/fail to comply with direction.
All individuals are from Tolland and were granted conditional bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 10 March 2021.
