Police have charged seven teenagers following a pursuit in Melbourne's West on Tuesday night.
Officers spotted an allegedly stolen white Skoda SUV driving at high speeds on Greens Road in Wyndham Vale just after 11pm.
Air Wing and police units on the ground followed the car through Werribee, Tarneit and Point Cook, then over the Westgate Bridge towards Melbourne.
The Skoda returned to the western suburbs and came to a stop on Featherbrook Drive in Point Cook, where the occupants got out and then into a white Volvo.
The Volvo allegedly sped off along the Princes Freeway towards Little River, then returned to the Werribee area.
The car crashed into a tree on Wisdom Avenue in Truganina.
There were no injuries and five of the occupants were arrested at the scene.
Two teens fled on foot and were arrested a short time later.
A 16-year-old boy from the Wyndham area was charged with 12 offences including theft of motor vehicle, reckless conduct endangering life, dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police, possess controlled weapon and possess dangerous article.
He was remanded to appear at a children's court at a later date.
Five boys from the Wyndham area, aged 15, 16, 16, 16 and 17, were charged with theft of motor vehicle.
A 16-year-old boy, also from the Wyndham area, was charged with theft of motor vehicle and possess cannabis.
They were bailed to appear at a children's court at a later date.
