Six people have been charged following an investigation into a brawl in Coonamble last week.
About 4.40pm on Tuesday 11 June 2024, emergency services were called to Green Avenue, following reports of a brawl.
On arrival, the group had already dispersed, and no injuries were reported.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, between 2.30pm and 5.10pm yesterday (Thursday 20 June 2024), police attended homes on Hermann and Ross Street, Coonamble, and arrested three men and another three men attended the police station.
Police attended a home on Hermann Street, Coonamble, and arrested two men aged 32 and 20. They were both taken to Coonamble Police Station.
The 32-year-old was charged with affray, use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition, and breach of bail.
The other man was charged with affray.
A 21-year-old man was later arrested at a home on Ross Street, Coonamble, and was taken to Coonamble Police Station.
During a search of the man, police allegedly located and seized cannabis and suboxone strips. He was charged with affray, and two counts of possess prohibited drug.
Three further men – aged 24, 30 and 31 – attended Coonamble Police Station and were arrested and all charged with affray.
Three of the men aged 32, 24, and 21 were refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Friday 21 June 2024).
The remaining three men aged 30, 31, and 20 were given conditional bail to appear at Coonamble Local Court on Tuesday 16 July 2024.
