Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged a teenage boy following an alleged aggravated burglary and evade police in Brighton overnight.
It is alleged unknown offenders forced entry to a residence on Orchard Street where they stole three vehicles, a Porsche, Mercedes and Land Rover about 1.45am.
The Porsche was located abandoned a short time later in Mellowood Court in Carrum Downs and the Landrover found in Glencairn Avenue Brighton.
The stolen Mercedes was then observed speeding on the Peninsula Freeway and followed into Melbourne's CBD with the assistance of Air Wing.
It is alleged the Mercedes reached speeds of up to 240km p/h along the Monash Freeway when the vehicle came to a stop between Eastlink and Peninsula Link.
A 15-year-old Frankston boy was arrested and has been charged with three counts of theft of motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, dangerous driving and possess a drug of dependence.
He will appear at a children's court today.
