Police Charge Teen After Pursuit At Blayney

A teenage boy will face court charged after an alleged pursuit in the Central West today.

About 7.15am (Monday 10 March 2025), officers attached to Chifley Police District were called to a high school in Blayney, after reports a sedan was allegedly seen doing burnouts on the school oval.

About 8am police sighted the vehicle on Carcoar Street, Blayney and attempted to stop the vehicle.

When it allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.

It was terminated shortly after due to the dangerous manner of driving.

About 8.15am, police sighted the vehicle on Mount Street, Blayney.

Police reengaged in the pursuit which continued along Water Street and onto Osman Street before losing sight of the vehicle on Stillingfleet Street.

About 8.45am the vehicle was located abandoned in an industrial yard on the corner of Hill and Gerty Streets, Blayney.

Police searched the area and located a 16-year-old boy in a nearby paddock.

He was arrested and taken to Bathurst Police Station.

He was charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, drive recklessly / furiously or speed / manner dangerous, driver use mobile phone, driver never licensed, learner exceed speed, and commit s154A offence and disseminate.

He was refused bail and will appear before a children's court today (Monday 10 March 2025).
