Police Charge Teen Over Armed Robbery At Mudgee

A teen will face court next month charged following an investigation into an alleged armed robbery at a business in Mudgee.

About 7.55pm on Saturday (27 July 2024), a teen entered a business on Inglis Street, Mudgee, and allegedly stole cigarettes.

As an employee entered, he grabbed the teen's backpack when he stumbled and dropped his bag, before fleeing on foot - he returned a short time later asking for his backpack.

A shot time later, the teen returned – allegedly armed with a knife – demanding his backpack and cigarettes, before allegedly running off with the items.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, about 11.45am yesterday (Tuesday 30 July 2024), police attended a home on Mudgee and arrested a 14-year-old boy.

He was taken to Mudgee Police Station.

The teen was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon, use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence, larceny, and two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.

He was given conditional bail to appear at a Children's court on Tuesday 20 August 2024.
