Police Charge Teen Over Armed Robbery At Wagga Wagga

Police have charged a teenaged boy over an alleged armed robbery yesterday at Wagga Wagga.

Just after 9.25am yesterday (Thursday 2 January 2025), police were called to Coolibah Street, Kooringal, following reports of an armed robbery.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District were told a 45-year-old man was approached by two people before he was allegedly assaulted and threatened with a broken glass.

The two left the scene after allegedly taking cash.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident, arresting a 17-year-old boy about 12.40pm.

He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.

He has been refused bail to appear at children's court later today (Friday 3 January 2025).

Inquiries are continuing.
